Braces Update #3

DISCLAIMER: Thank you to Updike Orthodontics and Honest Oral Surgeon for sponsoring my braces journey! All opinions are my own.

Hi everyone! It has been quite a while since I posted here and I am so sorry. I uploaded a video explaining my absence online, so if you're curious, you can watch it here.

Today's post is a braces update because it has been about three months since my last one! I swear this year is going by so much quicker than any of the other years. First, here are some progress photos that I took today after my orthodontist appointment. My extraction areas are still closing slowly, but today they added a chain to the back three teeth to help close the gap even quicker.

(Peep the grey chain elastic where the gap is. It's overlapping with the wire so it may be hard to see)

The main thing I wanted to talk about is how it looks like I'm getting LESS gummy?? My orthodontist and I were talking about that today because we were expecting the opposite to happen after I had gotten the extractions, but hey! I am totally okay with the way it's actually going. I've also been wearing rubber bands too (I'm currently on "Japan") which have helped my teeth move, and if you look closely you can actually see little gaps in between my top teeth.

I'm just so amazed that my smile has changed so much in about 5 months. It's absolutely insane. If you want to look back at my first or second blog posts regarding my braces to see a comparison, you can click here and here.

That's all I have for today's update. If you have any questions about braces, leave them in the comments below or contact me through Instagram! Huge thanks to Updike Orthodontics for taking such good care of me. I seriously can't wait to see my smile without braces!

As always, thank you for stopping by!
